The Jovian Plutonian Gravitational Effect

                         -Jennifer Niven

We homo-sapiens are reluctant. Belief system, eh? BIG word. But once, on April 1, Sir Patrick Moore declared on BBC Radio 2 that at exactly 9:47 am, Pluto the dwarf planet as we call it, and Jupiter will align themselves such that their net gravitational pull will tend to exert a robust tidal pull on our planet which will cause a short term loss in gravity. Yes my friend, you are allowed to have a rush of serotonin and oxytocin in your body. I also did. For once, I felt as if I was experiencing the effect. As if I was floating in the mid of nowhere. I could imagine my desk floating, my books going here and there, my pictures being completely scattered and my unnamed letters flying like they do in a bollywood drama movie. It was a whirlpool of miscellany but it was one of the very best feelings I've ever had. This is what our belief system is. We believe things that are presented to us with a ''make up''. We believe fancy ideas, dreamlike scenarios and sublime preachings. We believe the sufferings of the person who is pricked by a rose flower thorn. But do we believe what the thorn felt while pricking? The very fancy Jovian Plutonian Gravitational Pull was a HOAX. It was never meant to happen. It never happened. Talking about the English Astronomer Sir Patrick Moore's statement, it was clearly stated on April 1. The April Fool's day. But it enlivened you, didn't it? Your belief is what you own. The hoax was just a hoax. It was meant to be fun, and exhilarating. But to me, it taught a lesson of what we show all our faith in, is what we get at some point in our life. Maybe floating wasn't as important as imaging what it would be like. At some point of time, we have believed every person in our life. The decision of un-believing them is our power. Then why do we snatch it from ourselves and give it to others? Flying in the air at a precise time is a majestic feeling, but it is absolutely false at the same time (however in accordance to other theories, it might be true as well). We believed what was majestic, beautiful and pleasing. But what if you had been told that a pandemic will hit you in the coming future. You wouldn't have believed it easily. Voila! It actually did. Sometimes what we love the most makes us feel blue and then I feel as if I am living the 9:47 am.

How much better the world would have been if we believed was meant to be believed and not what we are made to believe.
